Step 2: Remove the factory light

Step 2: Drill the mounting hole
You should prepare a 22mm hole saw bit and drill through the outer door panel at the marked position. You had better work slowly and apply light pressure to avoid cracking the panel. After drilling, you must clean up any metal shavings immediately.
Step 3: Run the wiring
Next, you should connect the light’s power wire through the door panel to a 12V switched power source. In fact, the door jamb light circuit is the best choice. Then you can connect red to positive and black to ground with the supplied connectors. You don’t need any soldering.
